Purchasing Tubs

When you are purchasing a Clawfoot Tub, Pedestal Tub, or Slipper Tub you should take some time to completely understand all of the terminology that is associated with each style of classic bathtub. Below we have some of the most-common terms associated with the classic tubs which are sure to help you distinguish between each type of tub we offer here.

Some of the most popular styles of bathtubs that we offer here include clawfoot, slipper, and pedestal. You can combine some of these to create even more elegant styles that are sure to please anyone. As you look below, note that the tubs we offer also come in cast-iron and acrylic designs. This choice of materials also gives you the flexibility in price, weight, and style to fit your desires.


 

Clawfoot Tubs

One of the most-popular styles is the clawfoot tub. This is typically the type of bathtub that comes to mind when you think of the classic-style bathtubs of years gone by. This style is seeing a huge resurgence in popularity. the tub itself is charactorized by the ornate feet that support it. the feet come in a variety of styles, or finishes, that allow you to create the look that you desire. The typical finshes may include polished brass, polished chrome, brushed nickel, antique bronze, white or black. These colors can be selected on most of our tubs.

Clawfoot tubs come as both an acrylic clawfoot tub or a cast-iron clawfoot tub (with a porcelain finish) and may be available with either a deck mounted faucet or wall mounted faucet drilling. Be sure to select the style that you like best. 

The tubs also come in a variety of lengths so you will be able to find one that fits the size you need or want. The tubs we have listed are normally given in lengths in inches.

 

Slipper Tubs

Slipper Tubs add an elegant touch to any tub. The name comes from the raised end which gives the tub a slipper-like appearance. The high-back or end gives you a more comfortable feel and a very relaxing bathing expereince as you can stretch out and enjoy every minute of your time in the bath. The slipper tub may have a single or double slipper tub appearance. The style of slipper you choose will also determine the type of faucet mount that you choose.

Slipper tubs come as either clawfoot slipper tub or pedestal slipper tub designs. This style is also available in both cast-iron and acrylic materials which add to the flexibility of choices that we offer.

 

Pedestal Tubs

One of the best styles that a classic tub comes in is the Pedestal Tub design. This design incorporates all of the classic style tub attributes except that instead of having a clawfoot design, you now have a platform, or pedestal, that the tub rest on. Pedestal tubs are available as both slipper and double slipper designs and they come in both acrylic and cast-iron materials. We offer a variety of choices for your faucet mount and drillings as well.
