Additionally, we have some traditional and contemporary vanities in natural wood hues, very red cherry, even orange, stainless-steel and more. Whatever your personal style, you will find it here. Many vanities are made of real wood, while others are made from composite products like plywood with veneer or MDF. The cabinet will usually have some type of handles or knobs to grasp in order to open the drawers and doors. Often, the door knobs or pulls will be the very popular finish of brushed nickel as that finish seems to blend in with all kinds of faucets and fixtures.
Select A Sink Style
Vanity Sets will generally include a sink of some type (occasionally it's just the cabinet). A vessel sink is one that sits above the counter top. Some vessel sinks are taller that others, some are square or round, wider, more deep or shallow. When selecting a your vanity, make sure to purchase a faucet which is tall enough for the water to stream into the tall sink. A vital bit of info to understand is how tall the faucet and sink are. A basin style of sink is one that sits down into the cabinet below the counter top. Another name for a basin sink is "undermount". The height of the faucet is not a concern when buying a vanity which has a basin style of sink. One can get imaginative with the style of faucet whether the sink is a vessel or a basin, by adding a waterfall faucet. The water flows into the sink in a more serene way.
What Type of Vanity do You Prefer?
A countertop is usually included with the purchase of a Vanity Set. Glass, marble, porcelain and granite are the most common kinds of counter tops. All of these counter tops are available in different colors and patterns, however, porcelain is nearly constantly white. Countertops in tempered glass will be clear or frosted. If the one you have is clear and you prefer frosted, a can of window frost from the local hardware store will do the trick. Be sure to read the directions well and follow them very precisely for the best final look.
Drawers and doors are a hot subject when it concerns storage space in the bathroom. These days lots of vanities have easy close doors and drawers which minimize the sound from slamming drawers and they help to extend the life of the wood. Some drawers have dovetail joints which lots of consumers believe is a better quality of drawer.
Bathroom Vanities are generally mounted as flooring models or wall models. Vanities may be mounted to the wall for a variety of reasons. Floors that have an uneven surface or it might be slightly un-level, so a wall mounted vanity could be a favorable option. If those who live in the house are really tall or very short, a wall hung vanity allows for the cabinet to be installed at whatever height desired. Vanities are available in lots of shapes and sizes so it's not possible to list them all. There are vanities for the corner, plinth style, dual sink and single sink vanities. There are long vanities with one sink and short vanities with double sinks.
