Tips On Cleaning Your Acrylic Tub:

Cleansing your acrylic bathtub is quite basic. Here are a number of suggestions that will help to make your tub looking new. Make sure you work with a soft wash cloth when cleaning the tub. Turn on the faucet and add clean water in to the tub and then squeeze a bit of Dawn or other dish liquid or soft soap into the tub water & wash the acrylic tub. Drain the gray water and then rinse out with clean water.

Kaboom Foam-Tastic Bathroom Cleaner is another product that seriously does an amazing work of cleaning. Dampen the tub and spray the Kaboom on it. The Kaboom will be purple when it reaches the tub, however it will change into white to signify that the cleaning is done and you can then rub the tub with a soft cloth. Next as always, rinse off well with water.

A large number of non-abrasive products should work well. Just look at the cleanser label to see if there is a reference against using on acrylic.

The Tub Connection does not endorse products and consumers need to verify any product appropriateness before applying.

Tips to Care for Bathroom Fixtures:
The most effective cleaning process for shower heads and taps relies on composition of the fixture. To extract lime from shower heads made with chrome, stainless steel, or other protected metal surface areas, fill a plastic bag with white vinegar. Secure the bag over the showerhead with an elastic band. Wait one hour or so, then remove the bag of vinegar and activate the shower to flush away the vinegar and mineral deposits. Clean with a soft washcloth.

They say fixtures with oil-rubbed bronze, brushed nickel, polished chrome or brass surfaces, it is usually highly recommend that you apply solely water for cleansing. This is especially accurate of fixtures with darker finishes that are in style. Consult to product's care directions because cleansers can damage a specialized surface. And if in doubt, make sure you check a cleaning product on an unnoticeable part of the fixture to make sure that any markings to the finish is tough to identify.

How to Unclog a Tub or Shower Drain-

If your bath tub or shower drain is clogged with tangled hair and debris right on top of the drain it has to be cleaned out. Work with a set of needle nosed pliers to get any obvious clogs and extract them out of the drain. Snag as much of the debris that you can making use of the pliers. Run some water into the tub or shower to keep an eye on the rate that it leaves through the drain.

When extra treatment is necessary you should pour a pot of steaming warm water down the drain. Pour in approximately 1/2 c. baking soda. After that, pour about 1 c. vinegar as well as very quickly cover with a drain stopper (to maintain the reaction down below the drain surface) if you have one and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Flush again with a pitcher of boiling water. Clean with a soft dry rag to restore the nice shine.
