Tips to Care for Acrylic Tub:
Cleaning your acrylic tub is really basic. Here are a few suggestions that will make your tub looking brand new. Consistently use as soft cloth when cleaning the tub. Use the spigot to add some water to the tub and pour some Dawn or other dish soap or soft soap into the water and wash the tub. Empty the water and rinse with clean water.
An additional product that works well cleaning an acrylic tub is Kaboom Foam-Tastic Bathroom Cleaner with Oxi Clean. This product absolutely cleans really good.. Splash the tub with water, spray the Kaboom all well over the tub. You will see that the Kaboom is purple. When the tub is spotless, the Kaboom is going to be white. When you see that the Kaboom is white towel it with a soft wash rag and rinse it well.
Do not work any type of abrasive cleanser like Comet on your acrylic tub. Abrasive cleaning products will remove the sheen and quite possibly scratch up the acrylic.
The Tub Connection does not endorse any product and everyone needs to verify product appropriateness before using.
Anytime your tub or shower drain is obstructed with tangled hair and debris right on top of the drain it needs to be cleaned. Use a set of needle nosed pliers to grab any kind of visible clogs and dislocate them out of the drain. Take as much of the hair and soap that you can using the pliers. Turn on some water into the tub or shower and see the rate at which it leaves through the drain.
If additional care is required you may pour a pot of steaming very hot water down your drain. Pour in about 1/2 c. baking soda. After that, dump about 1 c. vinegar and swiftly cover with a drain stopper (to keep the reaction down in the drain surface) if you have one and allow it sit for 5-10 minutes. Flush one more time with a kettle of hot water. Wipe with a soft dry rag so you can restore the shine.
