How to Clean Cultured Marble Bathtubs

Cultured marble tubs are very luxurious and extravagant looking. Cultured marble isn’t cut or carved from a marble slab, but is marble dust mixed with a resin and is then molded to the desired shape. There is a very durable gel coat that covers the finished tub which gives it the smooth, high gloss or satin shine.

In order to maintain the intended surface, it is important to use the appropriate cleaning products and techniques.  There are house hold items, as well as, store-bought cleaners that can be used to maintain the beauty of the tub.

A Cultured Marble tub should be cleaned after each use while still wet with a very mild soap or spray distilled white vinegar and gently rub away dirty residue.

Another natural cleaner is baking soda, ammonia and vinegar, this may be used for a stubborn stain.  Just mix 1/2 cup of each and dilute with 8 cups water.  Wipe the solution onto the surface of the tub and let set for 10 minutes.  Wash off with cold water.  Repeat until clean.

The glossy finish on the tub can be maintained by using either counter top or car wax or silica products.  Proper cleaning and maintenance will cause your cultured marble tub to last a long time.
