Here are Additional Bathroom Vanities You May Like to Check Out
Many vanities are made of solid wood, while others are made from composite products such as MDF or plywood with a veneer overlay. The cabinet will have some type of handles or knobs to grasp in order to open the drawers and doors. Often times, the handles and knobs will be Brushed Nickel as that particular finish appears to complement all types of other bathroom fixtures.
Select Your Sink Style
Vanity Sets will generally have a sink of some sort (occasionally it's just the cabinet). A vessel sink is a sink that sits on top of the counter top. Some vessel sinks are taller that others, some are rounder, wider, more shallow or deeper. When buying a vanity with a vessel sink, be sure to purchase a faucet which is tall enough for water to stream into the tall sink. An important piece of info to understand is how tall the faucet and sink are. A basin style of sink is one that sits down into the cabinet below the countertop. A basin sink is also known as an "undermount". The height of the faucet is not an issue when purchasing a vanity which has a basin sink. One can get imaginative with the style of faucet whether the sink is a vessel or a basin, by installing a waterfall faucet. The water flows into the sink in a more serene way.
What Style of Vanity do You Prefer?
A countertop is almost always included in a Vanity Set. Glass, marble, porcelain and granite are the most common types of countertops. All of these countertops can be found in different colors and patterns, however, porcelain is nearly always white. Counter tops in tempered glass can be frosted or clear. If yours is clear but you would prefer frosted, a can of window frost from the local hardware store will do the trick. Be sure to read the instructions well and follow them very precisely for the best results.
Bathroom Vanities are generally installed as flooring models or wall designs. Vanities can be mounted on the wall for a number of reasons. Floors that have a rough area or it might be somewhat un-level, therefore, a floating vanity could be a good solution. If the homeowners are really tall or really short, a wall mounted vanity allows for the cabinet to be set up at whatever height desired. Vanities are available in so many different shapes and sizes so it is impossible to list all of them. There are corner vanities, pedestal style, double sink and single sink vanities. There are long vanities with one sink and shorter vanities with double sinks.
Drawers and doors are a hot topic when it pertains to storage space in the bathroom. Nowadays many vanities have easy closing doors and drawers which minimize the noise level from slamming drawers and it helps to lengthen the life of the wood. Some drawers will have dovetail connections which many consumers think is a much better quality of drawer.
