Choosing a Bathroom Vanity will be easier now that you have discovered The Tub Connection. We have every style, size and color you can imagine. As you look through our site and you will see that we have separated our vanities into several categories for your convenient viewing. Vanities can be seen by color, of the vanity, such as light oak, black, white and espresso. Additionally, we have some transitional and contemporary vanities in cherry, natural wood, orange, metal & glass, stainless-steel and more. Whatever your personal style, you will find it here. Some vanities are made from solid wood, while others are made of composite materials such as MDF or plywood with a veneer overlay. Cabinets will usually have some kind of knobs and/or handles to use in order to open up the drawers and doors. Often, the door knobs or pulls will be Brushed Nickel as that finish seems to complement all kinds of faucets.
Choose Your Sink Style
Vanity Sets will typically have a sink of some type (occasionally it's just the cabinet). A vessel sink is one that sits above the counter top. Some vessel style sinks are taller that others, some are square or round, oblong, more deep or shallow. When purchasing a your vanity, make sure the faucet is tall enough for the water to stream into the sink. A vital bit of information to understand is just how tall the vessel sink and the faucet are. A basin style of sink is one that sits down into the vanity cabinet below the counter top. A basin sink is also known as an "undermount". The height of the faucet is not a concern when buying a vanity that has a basin sink. One can get creative with the type of faucet whether the sink is a vessel or a basin, by adding a waterfall faucet. The water flows into the sink in a very relaxing way.
What Type of Vanity do You Prefer?
A countertop is usually included with the purchase of a Vanity Set. Porcelain, granite, marble and tempered glass are the typical types of counter tops. Each of these counter tops are available in various colors, although, porcelain is nearly always white. Counter tops in tempered-glass will be clear or frosted. If yours is clear but you prefer frosted, a can of window frost from the local hardware store will fix it for you. Make sure to read the directions well and follow them very precisely for the very best final look.
Doors and drawers are a very hot topic when it concerns storage in the bathroom. These days many vanities have easy close drawers and doors which decrease the noise level from slamming drawers and it helps to prolong the life of the wood. Some drawers will have dovetail joints which lots of people believe is a better quality of drawer.
Additional Bathroom Vanity Selections
Bathroom Vanities are typically installed as flooring designs or wall designs. Vanities may be installed on the wall for a variety of reasons. Floors that have a rough surface or it may be a little off-level, therefore, a wall-mounted vanity would be a favorable option. If those who live in the house are really tall or very short stature, a floating vanity allows for the cabinet to be installed at whatever height desired. Vanities are offered in a lot of shapes and sizes so it's not possible to mention all of them. There are vanities for the corner, plinth style, double sink and one sink vanities. There are long vanities with a single sink and shorter vanities with dual sinks.
