This faucet is clearly a three opening tap, the widespread 3 hole tap installs directly into the counter-top and all the plumbing connectors are under the countertop. The house supply of water lines attach to the "hot & cold" sides of the tap which allows the water to move right into the spout when either or both handles are switched on by moving the handles toward the spout for on & away from the spout for off.
