This faucet is plainly a 3 hole tap, the widespread three opening faucet sets directly into the countertop and all the plumbing connections are below the countertop. The home water system lines attach to the "hot & cold" sides of the tap which allows the water to flow into the spout as soon as either or both handles are turned on by moving the handles towards the spout for "On" and away from the spout for "Off".
