Choosing A Vanity
Choosing a Bathroom Vanity will be easier now that you have discovered The Tub Connection. We have every design, color and size you can imagine. As you look through our site and you will see that we have divided our vanities into several classifications for your convenient viewing. Vanities can be seen by color, of the vanity, such as white, espresso and gray. We also have some traditional and modern vanities in cherry, natural wood, orange, metal & glass, stainless-steel and more. Whatever your personal style, you will find it here. Many vanities are made of solid wood, while others are made of composite products like plywood with veneer or MDF. Cabinets will have some kind of handles or knobs to grasp in order to open the drawers and doors. Often, the handles and knobs are the very popular finish of brushed nickel as that finish seems to blend in with all types of other bathroom fixtures.
Choose A Sink Style
Vanity Sets will generally include a sink of some sort (some are just the cabinet). A vessel sink is a sink that sits above the countertop. Some vessel style sinks are taller that others, some are round or square, broader, more shallow or deeper. When purchasing a vanity, make sure to purchase a faucet which is tall enough for water to stream into the tall sink. A crucial bit of information to understand is just how tall the sink and faucet are. A basin sink is one that sits down into the vanity cabinet below the counter top. Another name for a basin sink is "undermount". The height of the faucet is not an issue when buying a vanity with a basin style of sink. One can get creative with the type of faucet whether the sink is a vessel or a basin, by installing a waterfall faucet. The water flows into the sink in a more relaxing way.
What Type of Vanity do You Prefer?
A countertop is almost always included with the purchase of a Vanity Set. Glass, marble, porcelain and granite are the typical kinds of countertops. Each of these counter tops are available in different colors and patterns, although, porcelain is almost always white. Counter tops in tempered-glass will be frosted or clear. If yours is clear and you would prefer frosted, a can of window frost from the local hardware store will do the trick. Make sure to read the instructions well and follow them exactly for the very best results.
Doors and drawers are a very hot subject when it pertains to storage space in the bathroom. Nowadays many vanities have easy glide hinges on drawers and doors which decrease the noise from slamming drawers and it helps to prolong the life of the wood. Some drawers will have dovetail connections which lots of consumers believe is a much better quality of drawer.
Bathroom Vanities are typically mounted as flooring designs or wall models. Vanities may be mounted to the wall for a variety of reasons. Floors that have an uneven surface or it might be slightly un-level, therefore, a wall hung vanity could be a good solution. If the homeowners are really tall or really short stature, a wall mounted vanity allows for the cabinet to be set up at whatever height desired. Vanities are available in a lot of shapes and sizes so it is impossible to list all of them. There are corner vanities, pedestal style, dual sink and single sink vanities. There are long vanities with one sink and shorter vanities with 2 sinks.
