Choosing A Vanity
Choosing a Bathroom Vanity will be much simpler now that you have found The Tub Connection. We have every design, color and size imaginable. As you look through our site and you will see that we have separated our vanities into several classifications for your convenient viewing. Vanities can be seen by the color of the vanity, such as white, espresso and gray. Additionally, we have some more traditional and modern vanities in natural wood hues, very red cherry, even orange, stainless-steel and more. Whatever your personal style, you are sure to find it here. Some vanities are made of solid wood, while others are made from composite materials such as plywood with veneer or MDF. The cabinet will typically have some kind of hardware to use in order to open up the doors and drawers. Often, the handles and knobs will be Brushed Nickel as that finish seems to complement all types of other bathroom fixtures.
Select Your Sink Style
Most Vanities typically have a sink of some type (some are just the cabinet). A vessel sink is a sink that sits above the countertop. Some vessel style sinks are taller that others, some are round or square, oblong, more shallow or deeper. When purchasing a vanity, make sure to purchase a faucet which is tall enough for water to flow into the tall sink. An important bit of information to understand is how tall the sink and faucet are. A basin style of sink is one that sits down into the vanity cabinet below the counter top. A basin sink is also known as an "undermount". The height of the faucet is not a concern when purchasing a vanity with a basin style of sink. You can get creative with the type of faucet whether the sink is a vessel or a basin, by installing a waterfall faucet. The water flows into the sink in a very peaceful way.
What Type of Vanity do You Prefer?
Drawers and doors are a very hot topic when it pertains to storage space in the bathroom. Nowadays many vanities have easy glide drawers and doors which decrease the sound from slamming drawers and it helps to extend the life of the wood. Some drawers will have dovetail joints which lots of consumers believe is a better quality of drawer.
A countertop is normally included with the purchase of a Vanity Set. Marble, glass and granite are the most common types of counter tops. Every one of these counter tops can be found in various colors and patterns, however, porcelain is almost always white. Counter tops in tempered glass will be frosted or clear. If the one you have is clear but you would prefer frosted, a can of window frost from the local hardware store will fix it for you. Be sure to read the directions well and follow them exactly for the very best final look.
Bathroom Vanities are typically mounted as floor designs or wall models. Vanities can be installed on the wall for a number of reasons. The floor that have a rough surface or it could be a little un-level, so a wall hung vanity would be a good solution. If the homeowners are very tall or very short stature, a wall-mounted vanity allows for the cabinet to be installed at whatever height desired. Vanities are available in a lot of shapes and sizes so it's impossible to mention them all. There are corner vanities, plinth style, dual sink and single sink vanities. There are long vanities with one sink and shorter vanities with dual sinks.
